Why we bring lights to every shoot
Cameras see light differently from people. A room that looks fine to the eye can leave dark eyes, shiny foreheads or a background brighter than the face. Our own lights fix that and keep the look consistent from the first interview to the last, even as the sun moves.
Lighting interviews
A soft main light
It shapes the face without harsh shadows.
A darker background
A little darker than the person, so they stand out.
The same set-up for everyone
In the same room, so interviews cut together.
Cool, quiet LED lights
So people stay comfortable.
Offices, clinics and factories
For supporting footage we keep the real feel of the place. We balance our lights with the light already there, watch for flicker from fluorescent and LED fittings, and avoid over-lighting so a factory still looks like a factory.
Location or studio?
The Locations and permits guide covers when each makes sense.
Example: Medibank

Our interviews for Medibank and Square are lit this way.
Soft, consistent light, set up once and matched for everyone in the room.
